Wangkhei Phee fabric is transparent, has numerous patterns on its body, and is popularly worn by ladies of Manipur. Wangkhei Phee fabric was initially made in muslin textile for use by the Royal family of Manipur. The weavers were also posted at the Wangkhei Colony, near to the palace but is now made at numerous places in Manipur. The kind of yarn in the textile used is fine cotton. The fiber in the foundation has counts of 80S and 100S cotton. Known as a" luxurious" cloth, it's a traditional wear used by ladies during marriage observances and carnivals.

Moirang Phee

Moirang Phee cloth fabric is a handiwork of Moirang village. Moirang village is located 46 kilometres( 29 mi) from Imphal, the capital of Manipur. Moirang Phee is a cloth fabric which has a precise design called the" MoirangPheejin", known in original language as Yarongphi. Yarongphi(' ya' means" tooth",' rong' means" long" and' longba' means" pronged") pattern is weaved over the Moirang Phee cloth is said to depict the thin and sharp teeth of the" Pakhangba", the Pythonic god in Manipur mythology. The fibre used to make the yarn is a outgrowth of “ Lashing ”( Cotton ball) and “ Kabrang ”( Mulberry cocoon). It's also uprooted from the dinghy of the tree species, locally called as" Santhak"( Urtica sp.). The fabric is made by ladies, and is used by them during marriages and other fests.

Shaphee Lanphee

The literal meaning of the fabric 'Shaphee' is "the fabric of animal and war". It is said that the king saw a man of Khoisnam clan wearing this Shaphee Lanphee and riding a horse. The king then adopted it as a form of honouring brave Naga Chiefs and soldiers for their bravery in a successful war of Manipur. It is exclusivity a product of Khoisnam lineage. Shaphee Lanphee is woven and embroidered, usually as a shawl, with embroidered motifs with cotton threads generally by Meitei women of Manipur.
