Bastar Dhokra
Dhokra crafts are the main traditional metalsmiths of West Bengal and Odisha. Their fashion of lost wax casting is named after their lineage, hence Dhokra essence casting. The lineage extends from Jharkhand to West Bengal and Odisha; members are distant relatives of the ChhattisgarhDhokras.There are two main processes of lost wax casting solid casting and concave casting. While the former is predominant in the south of India the ultimate is more common in Central and Eastern India. Solid casting doesn't use a complexion core but rather a solid piece of wax to produce the mould; concave casting is the more traditional system and uses the complexion core.
